PA Man Who Hit, Killed NJ Biker While Evading Police Is Headed To Prison
The PA man pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter earlier this year.
WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania driver who was responsible for the death of a motorcyclist in North Jersey is going to prison, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
On Friday, Sean B. Mamakas, 34, of Kempton, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 18 years in prison following an aggravated manslaughter conviction.
On Aug. 13, 2024, around 10:15 a.m., an NJ state trooper attempted to pull over an SUV driven by Mamakas on I-80 eastbound near milepost 11.

Mamakas tried to escape the police officer, accelerating onto County Road 521 in Hope Township. It was near Dogwood Road when he slammed into a motorcycle being driven by Michael Ceddia of Hackettstown.
Ceddia was thrown from his bike and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Mamakas lost control of the SUV following the impact before it veered off the road and came to rest near a wooded area.
Mamakas was treated for injuries sustained in the crash and arrested. He pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated manslaughter earlier this year.
