Pilot Dies After Crash at Blairstown Airport

Samuel Singer of Warren Township later died from the injuries he suffered during the crash, police said.

BLAIRSTOWN, N.J.– A pilot who crashed his single engine plane at Blairstown Airport Thursday later died from his injuries, the Blairstown Police are reporting.

Samuel Singer of Warren Township suffered serious injuries and needed to be extricated from the aircraft after slamming into trees at 9:23 a.m., the department said in a Facebook post.

Singer was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.

A witness said the plane had just been refueled before going full throttle across both runways and into the trees, according to police.

The crash is still under investigation.

Blairstown Ambulance Corps, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office, Warren County Hazmat, Blairstown OEM, and paramedics from Atlantic assisted.
