Pot Package Leads to Man's Arrest

Lake Hopatcong man charged with marijuana possession in Hackettstown.

A Lake Hopatcong man was charged with possession of more than an ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute on Thursday after police said he received a package containing suspected marijuana.

Christopher Donnelly, 24, of Lake Hopatcong, received the U.S. Postal Service package, according to Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan. In addition to the third-degree intent to distribute charge, Donnelly was also charged with fourth-degree possession of marijuana greater than one ounce.

Donnelly was transported to the Hackettstown police station before being released.

The arrest was made jointly by the Hackettstown Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Taskforce.
