Railroad Work Shuts Down Rt. 46 in Hackettstown: Police

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.– Railroad work will close Rt. 46/Main Street between Valentine and Beatty streets from 10 a.m.– 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, authorities said.

Officers will be on scene to assist with traffic, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Business and residences will still be accessible, he said.

According to Tynan, the detours are as follows:

Eastbound Rt. 46– Make a right onto West Stiger Street, left onto Beatty Street, left onto Valentine Street, then right onto eastbound Rt. 46;
Westbound Rt. 46– Make a left onto Valentine Street, right onto Beatty Street, right onto West Stiger Street, then left onto westbound Rt. 46.

Beginning Thursday afternoon, there will be no parking/tow away zones on Valentine Street, Tynan said.
