Substitute NJ TRANSIT Buses Temporarily Replacing Trains Along Morris, Essex Lines

Mid-day substitute buses will replace trains between Hackettstown and Netcong through mid-December, officials said.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.– Mid-day substitute buses on Monday will replace trains between Hackettstown and Netcong through mid-December, officials said.

The bus service will replace eastbound Train 854 and westbound Train 851 – from the Morris and Essex lines – at Hackettstown, Mount Olive and Netcong, Hackettstown Police said in a Facebook post.

Train 854 will depart Lake Hopatcong at 12:16 p.m. and make its regularly scheduled stops, the post says.

The substitute bus will connect with Train 6644 at Dover.

Commuters connecting from the bus who continue to Mountain Station, Highland Avenue, East Orange and Hoboken are asked to transfer to Train 424 at Summit.

Train 851 will operate as far as Lake Hopatcong. A substitute bus will be available in Dover.

The bus will stop at Mt. Arlington and Lake Hopatcong before continuing to Netcong, Mt. Olive and Hackettstown.
