Veterans to Benefit From 'Be a Hero-Hire a Hero' Event

Centenary College to partner up with organization working to transition servicemen and women back into every day life.

Veterans and military officers still serving will benefit from a special event this month designed to inspire and assist servicemen and servicewomen with transitioning into the work place, school classroom or their homes.

The event will take place May 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Sitnik Theatre in the David and Carol Lackland Center in Hackettstown. It will be sponsored by Centenary College in partnership with Be a Hero-Hire a Hero.

As part of Be a Hero-Hire a Hero's mission, the organization works to empower veterans, wounded soldiers and their relatives in returning to work. The organization offers services such as job posting assistance, resume preparation, candidate mentoring and more.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps. Lieutenant Colonel Ismael Ortiz Jr., president and managing partner of Be a Hero-Hire a Hero, will serve as the guest speaker. A panel discussion will also follow.

Veteran-focused business owners will be available for meet-and-greet after.
