HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Despite providing some watering holes in a sea of dry towns, you can still enjoy Dry January in Haddon Township.

People give up alcohol in January for a variety of reasons, from taking a break after holiday drinking to rethinking their consumption habits altogether. Some of Haddon Township's bars and restaurants can help.

Many surrounding locales have long prohibited alcohol sales, with some recent exceptions. Craft breweries can now operate in Collingswood and Haddonfield, while Haddon Heights voted by referendum last month to allow liquor sales.

Nonetheless, some of Haddon Township's bars and restaurants are getting in on the "dry" action with specials this month.

"So many people participate in Dry January after the holidays," said Haddon Township Mayor Randall Teague. "Though Haddon Township is known for its bar scene and beer gardens at seasonal events, the new year is always a great time to try something new and healthy."
