At last night's Haddon Township Board of Education meeting, board members voted unanimously to hire Nick DelGozzo of Williamstown as the new Haddon Township High School head varsity baseball coach. DelGozzo comes to Haddon Township with a stellar player and coaching history.
Nick DelGozzo knows exactly what it takes to win at the high school level. He was a three-year varsity starting infielder at Audubon High School (‘94). In 1994, DelGozzo and the Green Wave won their conference for a third consecutive year, and the South Jersey and State Group One Championships. DelGozzo was named an All-State infielder by the Newark Star Ledger.

DelGozzo is also a 1998 Monmouth University graduate where he was named all-conference three times. He went on to play for the Ohio Valley Redcoats in the independent Frontier League.
In November 2018, DelGozzo was one of eight inductees into the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame. In addition to his historic playing background, DelGozzo has an extensive coaching background. Since 2014, he has been the associate head coach at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School. As a coach for more than 20 years, DelGozzo has been a head coach for two Senior American Legion programs, Mt. Laurel and West Deptford. During his 15 years as Legion Skipper, DelGozzo amassed 250 wins, 10 district titles and two Mid Atlantic Regionals. While at Bishop Eustace, the teams recorded eight conference titles, two Diamond Classic Championships, Final four of the Last Dance Tournament (2020), one Courier Post Cup and were nationally ranked as a top 20 program.
In spring 2022, Haddon Township High School’s varsity baseball team had eight wins and 13 losses. In 2021, there were nine wins and 15 losses. “We want to put energy and enthusiasm back into our high school baseball program. We have a large number of 8th graders and 9th graders that are highly involved in baseball. We want to match their energy and enthusiasm with a top-notch coach and program. Coach DelGozzo has exactly what it takes to reinvigorate the baseball program at Haddon Township High School,” stated Tim George, athletic director for Haddon Township School District.

Coach DelGozzo is a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, as well as a fan of various Philadelphia sports teams. He lives in Williamstown with his wife Christine and daughter Bianca. When he’s not coaching baseball, Coach DelGozzo enjoys spending time with his family, pacing from a distance at his 7-year-old daughter's sporting events, playing washers, cards and golf while being the cannonball champion of his backyard.
