Haddon Twp. Police Targeting Junkers
Get your jalopy out of sight or face a fine, police warn.

Haddon Township Police are coming for you—that is, if you store a junker in your driveway or on the street.
“Recently, the Haddon Township Police Department has received an increase in the number of complaints regarding inoperable/abandoned vehicles being parked or stored on residential properties,” the department posted on its Facebook page.
Township regulations don’t permit unregistered, inoperable or dismantled vehicles to be stored in view for more than 10 days. Hiding your old car or its parts in a garage, however, is permitted.

“As a result of the numerous complaints we have received, we will be increasing our enforcement efforts immediately,” the department posted.
If police officers catch you, it could mean a hefty fine. The regulations allow for a maximum $1,000 fine or a 90-day jail stay—or both. Worse, every day someone is out of compliance can be treated as a separate offense.
