HADDONFIELD, NJ — A Halloween event in Haddonfield has been canceled because of the upcoming forecast.
The borough's Halloween Costume Party & Movie Night had been scheduled for Friday evening. But rain and thunderstorms appear likely around that time, according to weather officials.
The event was set to include treats, music and an outdoor showing of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" at Crows Foods. Haddonfield and Haddon Township still have several Halloween festivities planned for the rest of October.

Here's the National Weather Service's latest weekend forecast for Haddonfield:
- Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. High near 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
- Friday night: Rain and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a low around 54. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 49.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy.
- Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Breezy.
