Learn to Sail, Learn to Draw This Week in the Haddons
Regional theater near Haddonfield and Haddon Township also abounds this week.

Have you ever dreamed of piloting a sailboat?
Well, here’s your chance.
The Cooper River Yacht Club in Collingswood on South Park Drive has sailing classes starting this week. The sailboats are supplied. Sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m. several times a week. Sessions are on the water and held rain or shine. Sign up online at www.cooperriveryc.org or call 856-869-9145.

Kids art camps are continuing this week at the Markeim Art Center in Haddonfield. It’s organized around providing students with the opportunity to try a variety of mediums and develop new skills in a fun and safe environment.
Students enjoy studio and movement time as well as snack and game/outside play time in both a.m. and p.m. sessions. Each week, students create projects inspired by creative themes including painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, mixed‐media and more.

The Haddonfield planning board and municipal alliance meet this week. The planning board meets on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and the municipal alliance on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Both meeting are at the Municipal Hall, 242 Kings Highway East. Agendas were not immediately available.
The Westmont Farmers Market is scheduled for Wednesday. It’s open from 4 to 7 p.m. at the corner of Haddon and Stratford avenues in downtown Haddon Township. Stop by and dine in an outdoor cafe or pick up something fresh for dinner.
The Haddonfield Farmers Market is scheduled for Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Kings Court. It's one of the best ways to stay healthy, keep in touch with nature and support local entrepreneurial farmers and food providers, while meeting friends and neighbors, market organizers said.
Theater is also on tap this week from the Mainstage Center for the Performing Arts with a production of Magic Up Our Sleeve.
This high-energy musical revue features many well-known numbers performed throughout the years at Summer Stage, including from High School Musical 2, Annie, Lion King, Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast.
Performances are on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dennis Flyer Theatre, Lincoln Hall, Camden County College, 200 College Drive, Blackwood. Mainstage’s Summer Stage Video Film students will screen their original short films at the Dennis Flyer Theatre on Friday.
This event marks the culmination of a seven-week program during which students participate in the entire process of creating a film, from screenwriting and story boarding to shooting and editing. As Summer Stage celebrates its 25th anniversary season, it also observes the 10th anniversary of the film program. The program began with six participants and now consistently has more than 20.
