Mosquito Spraying In Some Camden County Neighborhoods Thursday Morning

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — The county Mosquito Commission will be spraying for mosquitoes early Thursday morning around Camden County.

The commission will be in Audobon, Stratford, Camden, Haddon Heights, Runnemede, Haddonfield, and Oaklyn from 2-6 a.m., according to a news release from the county. This time is when mosquitoes are most active.

The Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) mosquito spray is not harmful to pets or people, the county says, "but you should avoid direct contact if you have respiratory concerns or are sensitive to irritants."

Commissioner Jeff Nash said homeowners can remove standing water around their houses to reduce the number of blood-suckers nearby.

"Mosquitos need standing water to breed, so you can help keep them off your property by removing water from places like flowerpots and containers, he said. "This helps us reduce the pest population in your neighborhood, and it assists the efforts of the Camden County Mosquito Control Commission.”
