Music Festival Canceled In Haddon Township Due To Inclement Weather

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A music festival in Haddon Township has been canceled because of inclement weather.

The Summer Solstice Music Festival was slated for 4-10 p.m. Friday, when weather officials predict showers and thunderstorms for the area. The festival had five bands lined up, along with food trucks, a beer garden and children's entertainment.

The township said on its Facebook page to check back for updates regarding the festival.

The National Weather Service expects rainy conditions to last into next week for Haddon Township. Some of Friday's storms could produce heavy rain, the agency said.

Here's the National Weather Service's latest forecast for the Haddon area as of 9:45 a.m. Friday:

• Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 80. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Friday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Saturday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
