Newton Lake Overflows Its Banks Sunday
The lake encroached on the surrounding park and walking paths after a day of heavy rain.
The heavy thunderstorms that washed over South Jersey Sunday caused Newton Lake to breach its banks. These photos were taken at the portion of the lake between Cuthbert Boulevard and Lees Lane.
Sunday's rainstorms also caused a traffic nightmare in South Jersey.
As of 9 p.m., the rain started falling heavily once again. Beware of flash flooding and flooded intersections.
