Sale Of Kingsway Learning Center Building On Haddonfield Board Agenda

The Haddonfield Board of Education scheduled a special meeting Feb. 9 at the high school.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The sale of a former school in Haddonfield's downtown is on the school board agenda for a special meeting this week.

The board plans to discuss and take action on the sale of the former Kingsway Learning Center property at 144 Kings Highway West on Thursday, the district said.

In an interview with the local Sun newspapers, Superintendent Chuck Klaus mentioned the district was considering acquiring the three-story building from current owners 1892 Broadway Associates Inc, who purchased it form Kingsway in 2020.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Haddonfield Memorial High School library, the district said. The board welcomes current district parents and other members of the community to attend in-person or watch the live stream. The meeting agenda was not updated as of Wednesday morning.

Scheduled board meetings on Feb. 16 and 23 will go ahead, the board said.

Kingsway Learning Center purchased the vacant school building in Haddonfield in 1973, providing services for students with multiple disabilities.

In 2019, Kingsway consolidated their Moorestown and Haddonfield campuses into a new location in Voorhees.
