'The Producers' Take Center Stage at Haddonfield Plays and Players
The Tony Award-winning musical plays in Haddonfield through Aug. 10.

Mel Brooks' award-winning musical The Producers, about two bungling Broadway wannabes, gets a local spin today and through Aug. 10 at Haddonfield Plays and Players.
"Winner of 12 Tony Awards (including Best Musical), this Mel Brooks masterpiece follows Max Bialystock, a once great Broadway Producer, as he enlists his humble accountant, Leo Bloom, in a financial scheme to try and produce the biggest flop the Great White Way has ever seen," according to the theater group's website.
"That way, when the show immediately closes (hopefully at intermission) they can pocket the rest of the cash they’ve raised and retire to a life of luxury in Brazil. With a recipe that includes the worst play ever written, the worst director they know, and the worst actors they can find–along with a healthy dash of Max’s rotten luck, how can they possibly fail? Or, in other words, how could they possibly succeed?"
