2024 NewARTS May for Patch (Care on the Corner)

Care on the Corner is excited to offer a spring session of NewARTS Kids. This program is for children ages 5 through 11 and begins on May 7, 2024.

Under the direction of Debra M. Cook, art students will develop their knowledge of artist skills using a variety of visual arts media while drawing and painting on shells, rocks, canvas, watercolor paper, oil pastels, and watercolors. NewARTS’s adventures in art will be sure to inspire creativity with new mediums each week!

Session Dates:
Monet in May: May 7
The Art of Stone & Shell Painting: May 14
At the Beach Painting: May 21

The classes meet on Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:00 PM for 5- to 7-year-olds and
Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:00 PM for 8- to 11-year-olds.

Debra M. Cook is a Fine Arts Instructor, Sacred Artist, Botanical Illustrator, Iconographer and Photographer. She was educated at Parson’s School of Design, School of Visual Arts, NY, Botanical Garden, and the Prosopon School of Iconology. Debra has taught art lessons and workshops to children, teens, and adults for over twenty-five years at her private art studio, churches, and various locations. Debra’s artworks have been exhibited and awarded in shows, and her icons, drawings, paintings, and photographs hang in churches and many private collections.

The group meets in the Care Center at 333 Franklin Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights.

Call the Care Center at 201-288-9460 to register. Space is limited to 12 children per class.

Tuition is $80 per Session and includes ALL MATERIALS. Please feel free to inquire about the scholarships that are available.
