First Annual Autism Acceptance Month Art Exhibit Held

Westwood Gallery hosts Hackensack Meridian Children's Health Exhibit Featuring Works by Patients of Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital

(The Westwood Gallery was the site of the first of two art exhibits celebrating Autism Acceptance Month )

The first of two art exhibits marking Autism Acceptance Month opened April 15 at the Westwood Gallery. Owners Michael and Lore Fitzsimmons donated space at their Westwood Avenue gallery where an opening day reception was held for the weeklong exhibit. Nine artists who are patients at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital and their proud families, as well as the proud Developmental Pediatrics team at the hospital, attended the reception which featured all the artists talking about they had each created. Works ranged from pencil sketches and paintings, and each artist received a commemorative medal. The art moves from Westwood to the Hackensack University Medical Center campus on Monday, April 22.
