With the summer wind-down came the end of the first-ever camp sponsored by the Molly Center for Children with Diabetes at the Wyckoff YMCA. The camp was organized by the Molly Center pediatric endocrinology team at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. The children's hospital - one of the two hospitals that make up Hackensack Meridian Children's Health - is nationally ranked and recognized as one of the top hospitals in the country for pediatric endocrinology care.

"A summer camp like this offers a unique experience for children living with diabetes, providing a safe, but also a supportive environment for fun and for managing their condition," said Dr. Shoshana Tell, Director of Pediatric Diabetes at the Molly Center.

In addition to playing games and taking part in other traditional camp activities, the children learned about diabetes management such as blood glucose monitoring and medication management.
