It Was Sunny with a Side of Santa at Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital

The New Jersey Police Honor Legion Again Brings Christmas to Hackensack University Medical Center Campus.

(Hackensack Meridian Health )

Timothy Sullivan's commitment to giving back to Hackensack University Medical Center is remembered and celebrated every summer when hundreds of toys are shared with the pediatric patients of Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital. As they have done for almost 20 years now, the New Jersey Police Honor Legion (NJHL) again brought Christmas in July to the Hackensack University Medical Center campus.

Timothy Sullivan, who passed away in 2022, established the summer ritual after undergoing cancer treatment at Hackensack University Medical Center. After serving as a first responder on September 11, 2001, Timothy Sullivan, an NJHL executive board member, was diagnosed with cancer. While receiving care at HUMC, he saw children undergoing the same treatment and felt compelled to give back.

NJHL, with the support of the hospital's Child Life Team, continued last month to keep Timothy Sullivan's legacy of giving alive. Santa Claus, Captain America, Spiderman, and all those toys came to Joseph M. Sanzari packaged with joy.
