1 Killed In 2-Car Crash In Somerset County

The fatal motor vehicle crash happened on Sunday morning and remains under investigation.

FRANKLIN, NJ — One Somerset County resident was killed in a two-car crash on Sunday morning in Franklin Township.

On Sunday at around 7:43 a.m., Franklin Township Police received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash on Easton Avenue near Cedar Grove Lane.

The driver and sole occupant of a 2019 white Honda Civic, a 51-year-old Somerset resident, was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Chief of County Detectives Frank Roman, and Franklin Township Acting Public Safety Director Lloyd Fredericks.

The driver and sole occupant of the 2023 gray Toyota Tundra, a 37-year-old Piscataway resident, was uninjured.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
