HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - From luxury pet hotels to single-malt gin distilleries to family-owned restaurants, a slew of new businesses welcomed in 2022 proved successful for Hillsborough.

The Hillsborough Business Association recently lauded the community for its proliferating business scene in a social media statement last week, noting the extensive list of new and expanded businesses in the area that the association honored with ribbon-cutting ceremonies over the past year.

“The HBA looks forward to being a part of the development and growth of all businesses in our community,” the organization said.

Now that 2022 is officially over, let's look back at 8 new businesses that opened up this past year in Hillsborough:

Abundant Healing

The personalized health and wellness center opened in January, offering services ranging from deep tissue massages, neuromuscular therapy and circulatory massages to light and sound therapies. Abundant Healing also offers a variety of workshops and events, such as this mindfulness meditation class coming up next month.

AT&T Wireless Experience

The AT&T retailer providing wireless, home tech protection products and more opened in April, complete with appearances from Somerset County Business Partnership and 94.5 PST.

Bellemara Distillery

Calling all spirits lovers! Bellemara Distillery, a single-malt distillery which opened its doors in late December 2021 (with a grand opening in January), offers guided tours and tasting sessions in its multi-story facility overlooking Carriage Farm and Colonial Park.

Somerset Floor Coverings International

Somerset-area resident Steven Dipollina’s mobile floor showroom business opened in July, according to the Hillsborough Business Association. Touting over 3000 samples in tow, Dipollina offers a range of services from custom design to installation.

JAG-ONE Physical Therapy

The Hillsborough facility joined a list of other JAG-ONE locations in NY, NJ, and PA in June, all of which provide care for orthopedic, soft tissue and sports injuries. In fact, the Hillsborough site is the franchise’s fifth Somerset County location.

Mama Fanti Italian Kitchen

This BYOB family-owned restaurant serving up “contemporary rustic” Italian cuisine opened its doors in September, offering familiar favorites from specialty paninis to fettuccine alfredo and linguine carbonara.

K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Hillsborough

Pet owners, look no further: K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Hillsborough, which opened in December, serves to be a one-stop destination for all pet needs, including luxury dog boarding, daycare and bathing. What’s more, the franchise has won several awards, namely the Top Pet Care Franchise in the Nation by the International Boarding & Pet Services Association.

The Den

The Den, a gym space for personal trainers to work with clients, offers specialized programs focusing on fitness, weight loss and more. The private facility touts personalized curricula to clients with “specialized instruction and guidance,” according to the company.
