3 New Police Officers Hired To Serve Hillsborough Township
The Township Committee approved a resolution for the hiring of the three officers at the Oct. 14 meeting.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Three new police officers will be joining the Hillsborough Township Police force.
The Township Committee approved a resolution for the hiring of the three officers at the Oct. 14 meeting.
Kurt Kowalski was hired as a Police Officer at an annual salary of $80,587. Jerald Martinez and
Carlos Moran were hired as Police Officers at an annual salary of $58,726, effective Oct. 20.

Prior to the hirings, the police department had 61 officers. With the new hires, the police department now has 64 officers in the department, said Captain Scott W. Mc Carthy to Patch.
Committeewoman Catherine Payne, who is the Police Liaison, said the hirings were made to replace vacancies due to retirements.

"We have authorized up to 70 to give the force the opportunity to hire," said Mayor John Ciccarelli at the meeting. "They have six vacancies and we are recommending to hire three."
