BoroSAFE Sharing Resources During Suicide Prevention Week
Group helping to raise awareness in Hillsborough community.

This week is National Suicide Prevention Week, and Hillsborough Township Public Schools’ suicide awareness and prevention committee BoroSAFE is hoping to educate and raise awareness in the community.
According to the group, suicide is the third leading cause of death of adolescents between the ages of 15-24. There is one completed suicide every 15 minutes in the United States, 100 per day, and 34,000 per year, according to the group
BoroSAFE said Hillsborough has experienced 12 confirmed suicides in the last 15 years, statistics it says are significant in a community of Hillsborough's size.

As the township observes the week, BoroSAFE asks residents to take a moment and familiarize themselves with the warning signs of suicide and the actions an individual can take to help someone in need. Attached to this post is a form submitted by the group with warning signs and ways you can help.
