Deadly Franklin Shooting Sparks Investigation, Call For Info

Authorities are asking the public's help in finding information on a deadly shooting on May 18 in Franklin Township.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a 30-year-old Franklin Township man. David D. Anderson was shot in the area of Naaman Williams Park near Matilda Avenue, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

On Saturday, May 18, around 11 p.m., police got a report of somebody shot multiple times and later found out it happened at "a large gathering" at the park, according to a release from the prosecutor's office.

NJ.com reported the gunman fired into the large crowd, hitting Anderson.

A civilian brought Anderson to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
