Dehumidifier Sparks House Fire In Hillsborough: Police
A basement fire was reported in Hillsborough with someone possibly trapped on Halloween, according to Flagtown Fire.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A dehumifier sparked a house fire in Hillsborough on Halloween, according to police.
On Oct. 31 at 10:43 a.m., Hillsborough Township Police and Fire Department were called to a home at 5 Lindstrom Dr. for a reported basement fire with someone possibly trapped, according to Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1.
Hillsborough Firefighters found the smoke and small fire coming from a dehumidifier in the basement, said Hillsborough Police Captain Scott W. Mc Carthy.

The fire was contained to the appliance.
The flames were put out, and nothing suspicious was found, said Mc Carthy.

"Crews searched for additional victims and ventilated the smoke. Fortunately, nobody was injured, and damage was limited to the area of origin," said the fire department.
The home was deemed habitable as there was no structural damage, said Mc Carthy.
