Hillsborough Dad 'Taught Us Many Things To Make Sure We Stay Safe'
Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Hillsborough, meet John.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ— Father's Day is the perfect time to give a big thanks to all the dads who put smiles on our faces. Hillsborough, meet John.
If you know a dad who sends sweet, silly or thoughtful texts your way, you’re pretty lucky. Texts from Dad have a way of putting a smile on our faces — and this Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the fathers behind the phones!
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to shine a light on awesome dads and the funny, insightful things they say. This submission comes from Juliana who nominated John of Hillsborough.
What makes your dad extra special?
Every morning my dad wakes up does his usual routine, kisses everybody on the forehead, and heads out to work in one of the most dangerous jobs out there. He’s a deep sea diver and he does underwater construction. He usually has a cool story to tell like how he fought off a shark or when they shut off his air by accident or when he got trapped once and had to be rescued. With his stories always comes a lesson on how it’s important to always be prepared in case of an emergency. He’s taught us how to use fire extinguishers, how to change a car tire and many other things to make sure we are always safe even if he’s not here.
Why do you feel your dad deserves the spotlight?
My dad really puts himself last to make sure our family has everything. Recently my mom wanted to open up a business in Somerville called forever linxx and my dad did everything he could to make that dream happen for my mom. You can tell what makes my dad happy is seeing us happy.
Happy Father’s Day to John, and thank you for all you do!
