Hillsborough House Fire Under Investigation

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ – A house on Pembroke Terrace caught fire Sunday night and the cause is under investigation, according to officials.

First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 6:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from inside the home, Hillsborough Police said.

The residents evacuated and were uninjured. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and one was evaluated on site for heat exhaustion, but refused further medical attention, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety. The fire is not considered to be suspicious, officials said.
