Hillsborough Man, 74, Crashes Car into Princeton Grocery Store

Driver trapped in car for nearly half an hour before rescuers freed him.

A dark-colored Honda sedan crashed through the front of McCaffrey’s in the Princeton Shopping Center shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver, Daniel Isaacs, 74, of Hillsborough, was pinned inside the car and it took rescuers until about 3:55 p.m. to free him.

Two people inside the store were also injured: McCaffrey's employee Christian Brault, 20, of Lawrenceville and Carol Kelly, 56, also from Lawrenceville.

None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, according to Princeton Township Police. All of the victims were transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton. 

The township building inspector was on-site to assess the structural damage to the building. By 6:15 p.m. it was determined that McCaffrey's will remain open for business and repair crews were already on location.

It's unclear what caused the driver to crash into the building.
