Hillsborough Resident Injuried In Two-Car Accident Last Week

A 63-year-old Hillsborough resident was left with chest and arm injuries after her vehicle was struck by another vehicle on Route 579.

A 63-year-old Hillsborough resident was left with chest and arm injuries after her vehicle was struck by another vehicle on Route 579 in Hopewell Township Thursday night.

Meryl Bisberg was driving northbound in her Toyota Prius just before 6 p.m. when 79-year-old John Lehet, of Titusville, for unknown reasons, crossed the center line as he was driving southbound and struck her vehicle. Lehet suffered a chest injury and was transported to the same hospital as Bisberg - Capital Health Regional Medical Center, according to nj.com.

Lehet was issued a “failure to keep right” summons for the accident which closed Route 579, just south of Route 546, for approximately two hours that night. The accident is still under investigation by the Hopewell Township police and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
