Hillsborough Residents, Get Free Coffee in Celebration of Wawa's 51st Birthday
The convenience store expects to pour up more than 1 million cups of coffee for Wawa Day on April 16.

Wawa has eclipsed the half century mark and in celebration of its 51st birthday, the chain of convenience stores is offering up free coffee in celebration.
Visitors to one of the hundreds of Wawa locations across New Jersey and Pennsylvania on April 16 can receive any size cup of coffee for free. On Wawa Day, as the celebration is known, the convenience store chain expects to give away more than 1.5 million free cups of any size coffee for all customers chain-wide, Wawa said.
The giveaways aren’t limited to April 16, as Wawa said it will be giving away 416 Wawa in-store $20 gift cards. Customers can enter to win a gift card until 5 p.m. on April 17.

“Wawa Day gives us an opportunity to thank and connect with our customers while celebrating the day that forever chartered our company’s course, while creating new traditions that will mark the next 50 years of our company’s history,” Chris Gheysens, Wawa’s President and CEO, said in a release.
Wawa Day begins at 8 a.m. with the Mayor of Philadelphia Michael Nutter proclaiming April 16 as Wawa Day and pouring the ceremonial first cups of coffee.

Hillsborough residents looking to get in on Wawa Day can visit the nearest Wawa location at 381 Triangle Road in Hillsborough Township.
