Hillsborough Star Student Has A 'Very Empathetic, Compassionate Heart'

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Preeti Sharma who nominated her daughter Asmi of Hillsborough.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Asmi is a 3rd Grade student at Hillsborough. She is a very empathetic child and always considers helping her classmates and friends. Her teachers are always telling us how she is always willing to help others and is very disciplined. Asmi has multiple interests and loves dancing a lot. Asmi is also part of a local Scout troop and believes in giving back to the community. She and her sister loves dog and offered help to the fellow unknown neighbor and ensured to walk the dog for few days in her neighborhood and kept the pet cheerful while the owners were away for few days. She is a very compassionate person and wants to help people as she grows up.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She has a very empathetic and compassionate heart. She wants to help and serve the people at large.
