Hillsborough Swimmer Honored For Successful Season, Commitment

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough High School sophomore Emily Sudol was recently honored by the Township Committee for "her successful season and commitment to the sport, and wish her success in all her future endeavors."

Hillsborough Township Mayor John Ciccarelli recognized Sudol with a proclamation at the March 25 Committee meeting.

"I would like to thank the Mayor and the Township Committee for recognizing my state title this evening. And I would also like to thank all of my coaches and teammates this season, for not only supporting me this season, but being here tonight. I'm very proud to represent such an amazing team," said Sudol at the meeting.

Sudol won the 200 Individual Medley in the 2025 Meet of Champions on behalf of the Hillsborough High School Girls Swim Team.

She also placed fourth in the 500 Freestyle at the 2025 Meet of Champions, was the Somerset County Champion in both the 200 Individual Medley, and the 500 Freestyle,

Sudol was undefeated in the 200 Individual Medley in the 2024-25 season across all dual and
championship meets and also obtained a varsity letter in Cross County, Swimming, and Track and Field.

She further competed as a member of the 2024 World Lifesaving Championship in the U/19 division and represented Team USA in Brisbane, Australia. She was also just named Skyland Conference Girls Swimmer of the Year.
