Hillsborough Township Committee, School Election Unofficial Results 2024
Both the Township Committee and Board of Education races were contested in Hillsborough Township.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The 2024 unofficial results are in for the Hillsborough Township Committee and School District's Board of Education general election.
In the Township Committee race, Republican incumbents Robert Britting, Jr. and Shawn Lipani are leading over Democrats Hermes Vallejo and James Vander Vliet, according to unofficial results.

In the school board race, Elaine Jackson, Jane M. Staats, and Allison Laning-Beder are leading over N. Jannah Hameed and Diane Braungard-Galayda.
Here are the real-time unofficial results for Hillsborough. According to Somerset County, 100 percent of the districts have reported. However, these results remain unofficial until all mail-in and provisional ballots are counted:

Results for 2024 (* denotes incumbent)
Township Committee
There are four candidates running for two open seats on the Township Committee.
- Hermes Vallejo - Democrat - 7,323
- James Vander Vliet - Democrat - 7,182
- Robert Britting, Jr. - Republican* - 10,638
- Shawn Lipani - Republican* - 10,643
Hillsborough Township Board of Education
There are five candidates running for the three, three-year full-term seats up for grabs:
- Elaine Jackson* - 7,725
- Jane M. Staats* - 7,973
- Allison Laning-Beder* - 6,429
- N. Jannah Hameed - 4,580
- Diane Braungard-Galayda - 4,890
Fire District
- William J. Woodruff III - 9,462
- Marian Fenwick-Shaffer - 6,250
- Sam Rozycki - 4,826
After Election Day
Nov. 12 – Last Day Mail-In Ballots Accepted
Mail-in ballots sent through the United States Post Office that were postmarked by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 and are received by Nov. 12 will be accepted. Ballots received after this time will not be considered.
Nov. 25 – Final Certification of Votes
Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter must certify the combined results of mail-in ballots, early voting, and in-person election day voting to the New Jersey Secretary of State by this date. Results will be posted here.
