Letter to the Editor: Martinez's Work Shows His Character

Coworker at NYSE believes BOE candidate has proven his worth over the years.

The following is a Letter to the Editor submitted by Judy Bryngil, a coworker of BOE candidate Aldo Martinez at the New York Stock Exchange.

I am writing this letter in support of my colleague and friend, Aldo J. Martinez, regarding his candidacy for the Board of Education in Hillsborough. I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with Aldo since 1987 at the New York Stock Exchange. He was my mentor and supervisor, after which we served as co-department heads for over 10 years. I can attest to Aldo's character, integrity, team spirit, and commitment to education and training at all levels.

Aldo and I worked together on many significant projects, as well as in the day-to-day management of our respective departments and personnel. Aldo has always demonstrated fairness, a commitment to innovation and financial efficiencies and to people development. He would be a terrific asset to the Board of Education and I strongly recommend that the townspeople of Hillsborough cast their votes for Aldo. Following are some of the characteristics which Aldo demonstrated at the NYSE.

  • Aldo always created a collaborative, mission-oriented work environment and led to reach consensus.
  • Aldo used these skills to manage the work finances by increasing efficiency via automation. He increased staff over 15 years by only one person while handling an ever increasing caseload given a trading volume increase of over 500% and reducing the average age of investigations from two years to under five months. He established effective relationships with other regulatory areas in other exchanges and with U.S. government agencies.
  • Aldo's ideology was to care for those who worked for him and the public investors we all represented.
  • Aldo accomplished all this while dedicating significant personal efforts to the educational cause of Junior Achievement (JA) during 20 years by teaching in the N.Y. City classrooms and representing us at the NYSE on the Board of Directors of JANY.

These are just some examples which made Aldo such an effective leader at the NYSE. He would bring these traits to a board of education seat, as well.

Please consider Aldo for this important role–he would represent the children and all parties in the school system with integrity and dedication.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Judy Bryngil
