Learn More About Local Native Americans' History at Library
November presentation by archeologist will discuss heritage, history and names of local features.

Learn the history, culture and impact of the Native American peoples who lived in Central Jersey at a presentation by archaeology archivist and field archaeologist James Wade at the Hillsborough Public Library, at 7 p.m. Nov. 6.
Wade is a frequent speaker at Washington Crossing State Park, and his work includes a special project at the N.J. State Museum researching 17th and 18th Century New Jersey land deeds of the Delaware-Lenape Indians. He worked as a field archaeologist on a prehistoric Indian excavation site in White Horse, as well as other Indian sites throughout Central New Jersey.
His program for adults and children ages 12 and over will help us understand the Naive Americans' significance as a people, relationship to the land, and their legacy through Indian names of places, rivers, mountains, towns, etc., that are still used by us today.
See and touch actual Indian stone artifacts that were found throughout New Jersey, and learn how they were made and used by the Native Americans.
