Homework Help Center @ The Hillsborough Library
Are you in Grades 5-8 and need help with your homework? Check out the Hillsborough Library HOMEWORK HELP CENTER! You can meet with a teen volunteer for help on a variety of subjects!  HHC is available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is preferred. Stop by or call the Children's Desk at (908) 369-2200 ext. 14.

Adult Services Programs from Dec. 9 through Dec. 27:

ESL Conversation Group: Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Sign up for our mixed gender ESL Conversation Group in the Hillsborough Library Conference Room. The program runs through Dec. 16. Ages 18 and older. Must know basic English.
Friends of the Library Book Discussion: Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The featured book of this discussion is "Secrets of Eden" by Chris Bohjalian.
Music in the West Wing: Seasons: Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. With a sound based mainly around Celtic harp and the hammered dulcimer, but also bringing in instruments as diverse as the violin, mandolin, bodrhan, penny whistle, guitar and piano, Seasons creates an exciting fusion of Celtic, folk, original, and popular music, resulting in a sound that is truly unique! Join us in the West Wing of our library for some original, traditional and holiday songs. Refreshments will be served!
ACA Assistance Services – Dec. 14, Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. Cognosante Enrollment Assistance Services will be available to answer questions and assist community members with signing up for the Affordable Health Care Act.

Youth Services Programs from Dec. 16 through Dec. 27: 

First Roots Music with Ms. Jenni: Newborn to 3 years – Dec. 16 at 10 a.m.
Join Ms. Jenni, a Kindermusik educator and owner of First Roots Music Studio, for an entertaining music class that helps your child develop language, literacy, social and listening skills in a fun, nurturing, family-friendly setting. NOTE: Parents, in order to provide a safe environment for our youngest patrons, older siblings will not be allowed into this program.
Story Time: Snowmen: Ages 4-6 – Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.
Help your preschool or kindergarten child get ready to read! Enjoy stories together and build language skills. No registration required! 
Game On! Volunteer Opportunity:  Grades 8-12 – Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
We are looking for reliable teen volunteers in Grades 8-12 to provide assistance during our Game On! programs. Teen volunteers will help set-up the program, assist in game instruction, provide suggestions and encouragement, and will demonstrate an enthusiastic presence throughout the program.
Game On! Grades 3-5; Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. Bring your game face for a variety of Wii games and board games! Ignite your strategy brain!
Toddler Time for 2s and 3s: Winter : Ages 2-3 – Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. Introduce the pleasure of books to your child! Join us for stories, songs & more.
Rhyme Time for ages Newborn - 24 Months: Dec. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Build brainpower! Join us for 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun!
Early Reader Book Club: Grades K-2 ; Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. An exciting program for brand-new readers! At each program we will discuss the book, do some activities and make a craft. Please be sure to read the book before the program. Copies will be available at the Children's Desk. This program: “Poppleton in Winter” by Cynthia Rylant.
Preschool Book Club: For Parents and Children Ages 3-5; Dec. 18  at 10 a.m. Join us as we read books by Bill Martin Jr. and share book-related activities.
Neshanic Garden Club: Evergreen Holiday Bell: Grades 2-4; Dec. 18 at 4 p.m.
Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club and make something fun!
Craft Time: Just Imagine! Ages 4-6; Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
Have fun making a craft with your preschool or kindergarten child!
Kidz Art Zone: Swirly Landscapes: Grades 3-4 ; Dec. 19 at 4 p.m.
Budding artists can have fun creating masterpieces with their friends! (Some projects may be messy, so please dress in play clothes!)
Winter Wonderland Party! Grades 6-12; Dec. 19 at 6 p.m.
Get into the spirit of the season! We'll have music, a movie, crafts and snacks. Invite your friends and hang out during our festive party.
Story & Craft: Corduroy! Ages 2-6; Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m., or Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. Listen to a story and create a craft to take home!
Lego Buddies: Grades 8-12 – Dec. 21 at 2:45 p.m.
We are looking for reliable teen volunteers to provide assistance during our Lego Club programs. Must have great social skills and previous experience with children. Volunteers will earn community service hours for their attendance. Space is limited to 4 volunteers per session!
Lego Club: Grades 1-5; Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. Love Legos? Stop by! We supply the Legos and YOU supply the creativity!
Children’s Movie: Monsters University: Ages 5+; Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. Join us for a fun movie on the BIG screen! This program: 'Monsters University'. Rated G  and  104 minutes long.
Children’s Movie: Super Buddies:  Ages 5+; Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. Join us for a fun movie on the BIG screen! This program: 'Super Buddies!' Rated G and  81 minutes long.
