Local Troop Helps Feed Those in Need

Seven Hillsborough Boy Scouts packed bags of food to help around Easter and Passover.

Hillsborough Boy Scout Troop 186 recently packed food bags to help those in need during Easter and Passover. 

Seven of the troop's scouts gathered in a conference room in the and packed 100 bags of food for a special spring food giveway program through Hillsborough's Social Services Department.

The bags were stocked with staple foods that can make the difference in feeding families: soup, canned vegetables, tuna, pasta, rice, beans, tomato sauce, and canned fruit.

The scouts date checked, sorted, and shelved four shopping carts full of donated food for Hillsborough's food pantry.

The troop enjoyed its project helping with the December holiday food program, and wanted to give back again for this project.
