Longtime Hillsborough Board Of Health Members Honored By Twp Committee
Three Hillsborough-area doctors were recognized this month for their decades of health-related service to the community, officials said.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Three Hillsborough-area residents were recognized by the Hillsborough Township Committee at the governing body’s meeting earlier this month for their decades of health-related service to the community.
On Dec. 13, Mayor Shawn Lipani presented three Hillsborough Board of Health members with proclamations honoring a combined 102 years of service to the township.
Honorees included former Hillsborough Veterinary Hospital owner and current Sourland Pet Health owner Dr. Charles Schwirck, local chiropractor Dr. Robert Matros, and 44-year Hillsborough resident Dr. Willard Potter.

“Thank you for your many years of service to our community,” the township wrote in a statement.
Schwrick has been a participant in the Hillsborough rabies vaccination clinics for nearly 40 years; Matros has also been the Wildlife Commission Chair for 18 years, a member of the Hillsborough Board of Health for over 30 years, a member of the Hillsborough Youth Services Commission and co-chair of the initial Project Graduation, the township said in separate proclamations.

Potter also assisted the local health department with review of cleanup and development plans for the former GSA Depot site and vaccination clinics throughout the years, his proclamation read.
