Mother Charged After Infant Found With Multiple Skull Fractures At Somerset County Hotel
Police said the five-month-old baby girl had sustained multiple skull fractures, head swelling, and intracranial hemorrhages.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A mother was arrested after police say they found an infant with a head injury at a hotel in Franklin Township.
Pamela Janiszak, 38, of Somerset, was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, announced Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
On Sept. 6 at around 12:25 a.m., Franklin Township Police went to a hotel on Cedar Grove Lane for a report of an infant child with head trauma.

Officers saw a lethargic five-month-old female victim with a large contusion to the back of her head, said McDonald.
The infant was taken to a local trauma center for emergency treatment.

The victim’s mother, Janiszak, was found unconscious on a bed in the room and was also taken to a local hospital for treatment, said McDonald.
An investigation by detectives from the Franklin Township Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the victim had sustained multiple skull fractures, head swelling, and intracranial hemorrhages.
The investigation revealed that the infant's mother, Janiszak, was responsible for the infant’s injuries.
On Sept. 16, Janiszak was arrested without incident in Toms River. Janiszak was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a hearing in this matter.
