New Details In Fatal Somerset County 2-Car Crash, Driver Identity Released
The two-vehicle crash happened on Easton Avenue near Cedar Grove Lane on Sunday morning.
FRANKLIN, NJ — The driver who was killed in a two-car crash in Franklin Township on Sunday morning has been identified, and new details about what caused the crash were released.
Michele Rojek, age 51, from Somerset, was identified as the driver of a 2019 white Honda Civic who died, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Franklin Township Acting Public Safety Director Lloyd Fredericks announced.
On Sunday at around 7:43 a.m., Franklin Township Police received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle crash on Easton Avenue near Cedar Grove Lane.

Franklin Township Police Officers, along with Emergency Medical Services personnel, treated the victims.
A driver and sole occupant of a 2019 white Honda Civic, identified as Rojek, was taken from the scene to an area trauma center, where she was subsequently pronounced dead, said McDonald.

A male operator, identified as a 37-year-old Piscataway resident, driving a 2023 gray Toyota Tundra, did not require medical attention, said McDonald.
A preliminary investigation found that Rojek was driving southbound on the northbound side of Easton Avenue when her vehicle crashed with a 2023 gray Toyota Tundra.
Witness reports confirmed the preliminary findings, said McDonald.
The matter remains under investigation.
