Norz Hill Farm & Market Honored For 100 Years In Hillsborough
A Hillsborough-based farm was recently honored by the local governing body with a proclamation celebrating its 100th anniversary.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - A Hillsborough-based farm was recently honored by the local governing body with a proclamation celebrating its 100th anniversary farming in Hillsborough.
The farm was honored by Mayor Shawn Lipani at the local governing body’s Dec. 13 meeting, complete with a proclamation honoring the local business’ centennial anniversary, according to a social media statement from the township.
“Norz Hill Farm & Market, LLC has over the years exhibited its dedication and commitment over the years to cultivating and supporting the agricultural community as a whole, while also adapting to unprecedented times with a focus on safety and community engagement,” the township committee wrote, emphasizing Norz Hill Farm’s evolution from a dairy farm to a sizable year-round operation in several communities.

Fourth-generation farmers Rich Norz, Jr. and Debbie Norz,, along with Rich Norz, Sr., have farmed over 1200 owned and leased acres in the area since 1922, the Hillsborough Township Committee wrote in a proclamation honoring the business.
“Our New Jersey farm is steeped in history and tradition that runs four generations deep, starting with Rich Senior’s grandparents—Joseph and Julia Wontrobski—who began working the land as a general livestock and crop farm to feed their family,” reads a statement on the farm’s website. “Through the years, what has been raised and grown has changed, but our commitment to high-quality products and events has remained the same.”

Aside from farm-fresh offerings, Norz Hill Farm has hosted family fun days for decades, including Fall Harvest Day, Scare Farm and the Hillsborough Farmers Market, according to its website.
