Picnics and Ageless Grace at Hillsborough Senior Center

Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine has announced that the following programs will be held in September at the Hillsborough Senior Center, located at 339 South Brand Road.

Annual Picnic in the Park – Sept. 23, 10:30 a.m.

Join us, and our friends from the Manville Senior Center, for music, games and fun at our annual “Picnic in the Park”, held at Ann Van Middlesworth Park, located at 570 Pleasant View Road.

Ageless Grace – Sept. 28, 9:30 a.m.

An eight-week session of Ageless Grace begins Monday, Sept. 28. The cost for eight classes is $40; advance registration is required. (No class will be held Oct. 12.)

This program is intended for people of all ages and abilities and can be performed while sitting or standing. Ageless Grace incorporates 21 simple exercise tools that focus on joint mobility, spinal flexibility, right-left brain coordination, cognitive function, balance and playfulness.

Ageless Grace is a fitness and wellness program that is based on the cutting-edge science of neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain and central nervous system to change structurally and functionally). It is designed to activate all five functions of the brain - strategic planning, memory and recall, analytical thinking, creativity and imagination, and kinesthetic learning.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

Lunch menus at the Hillsborough Senior Center include a choice of a meat-based entree, vegetarian entree or a box lunch option, with or without meat. There is a suggested lunch donation of $2.00 for individuals age 60 and above; the cost of lunch for individuals under age 60 is $6.99.
