I am urging voters to vote in favor of the ballot question permitting open space funds to be used for recreational purposes. I have lived in Hillsborough for over 30 years and have seen the town grow exponentially.
Hillsborough has been rated by many magazines as one of the top places to live in NJ. Hillsborough could not earn such lofty rankings without well thought out and forward looking decisions made by our local government.
Purchasing land with Open Space Trust funds to prevent over development has been very important to keeping Hillsborough growth balanced.

Mayor DelCore and the Township Committee have indicated that it will have a needs assessment performed by an independent study to determine the best use of the open space funds. This creates a win-win situation for the residents of Hillsborough.
Each resident will have a say in how the funds can be used for everyone’s recreational enjoyment. Hillsborough needs additional recreation and park facilities to support the population growth in the township. Improvements to existing facilities is much needed and will add to the quality of life in our township.

Having access to these funds makes it possible. Please vote “YES” for recreation on Tuesday.
