Township Committee: Art Skaar
Democrat hopes to break Republican lock on committee.
Democrat Art Skaar was tapped in September to fill the party's vacancy when nominee William Kole withdrew from the race because he had moved out of the township.
Skaar, a local attorney, also ran for the Township Committee in 1996.
He told the Courier-News his experience as a local business owner and practicing attorney has given him an understanding of the township's issues.
He has also stated his opposition to the open space referendum.
