Township Green Living, Wellness Fair Hosting Health Screenings
Hillsborough's 2015 Green Living and Wellness Fair will feature health screenings, blood drive and more.

The 2015 Hillsborough Township Green Living and Wellness Fair will be taking place later this month, featuring numerous health screenings and green living information.
The second Green Living and Wellness Fair will take place on Wednesday, June 17, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hillsborough Township Municipal Complex.
“The fair will offer various health evaluations including vision screening for ages 3 and up, blood pressure tests, glucose / diabetes screenings, skin cancer screenings and foot exams,” Committeewoman Gloria McCauley, liaison to the Sustainable Hillsborough Committee, said in a release from the township. “Those interested in skin cancer screenings need to call the Health Department at 908-369-5652 to make an appointment.”

A blood drive will also be held during the event. Robert Wood Johnson - Somerset will be conducting the blood drive in the Senior Activity Center. All donors are entered into a raffle for a $25 ShopRite gift card, the county said.
Additionally, information regarding sustainable living practices will be provided at the Green Living and Wellness Fair. Rutgers Water Resources will be in attendance and will be demonstrating an Enviroscape Model and rain barrels, according to Hillsborough Township officials. Participants will have the opportunities to recycle various items, including electronics, American Flags and textiles.

“The fair’s commitment to encouraging sustainable practices will include information on recycling, environmental awareness and sustainable strategies to incorporate into everyday life,” McCauley said.
