Two Arrested, Over 2 Pounds of Cocaine Seized in Somerset County

Two Plainfield residents have been arrested for selling over 2 pounds of cocaine to an undercover detective during a narcotics investigation

Two Plainfield residents have been arrested for selling over 2 pounds of cocaine to an undercover detective during a narcotics investigation in Somerset County this month.

According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Julian A. Mirambeaux, 45, and MiGdalia Acevedo, 33, both of Myrtle Avenue in Plainfield, were arrested on Sunday after they made multiple narcotic sales to the undercover detective over about a two-week span.

On Sunday, Mirambeaux and MiGdalia sold the detective a plastic bag containing 2.2 pounds of cocaine and a plastic bag containing a defaced .380 caliber Highpoint handgun at a store parking lot located on Route 22 East in Bridgewater.

At 8 p.m. an undercover detective assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force met with Mirambeaux and Acevedo in a Route 22 restaurant parking lot located in Bridgewater.

Mirambeaux asked the undercover detective to enter the their black Audi. Once inside the Audi the detective purchased approximately 5 grams of cocaine from defendant Mirambeaux.

On September 16 -

At 8:30 p.m. the same undercover detective made arrangements to meet a second time with Mirambeaux in the same parking lot.

Once again, Mirambeaux arrived in the same black Audi. This time, Mirambeaux exited the Audi and entered the undercover detective’s vehicle where he sold the undercover detective another 5 grams of cocaine.

On - September 20

At 8 p.m. the undercover detective made arrangements to meet again with defendants Mirambeaux and Acevedo in the same restaurant parking.

This time, Mirambeaux arrived alone driving a black Acura. Mirambeaux exited his vehicle and entered the undercover detective’s vehicle. He instructed the detective to drive his vehicle to a fast food restaurant parking lot in Bridgewater in order to meet with Acevedo.

Upon arriving at this second location Mirambeaux placed a phone call to Acevedo. Acevedo advised that she was on the side road east of Mirambeaux’s location.

The undercover detective drove his vehicle, with Mirambeaux as his passenger, to Acevedo’s location. The undercover detective observed Acevedo in a silver Chrysler Aspen parked on the side of the road. She followed the undercover detective to a store parking lot located on Route 22 East.

Once there, Mirambeaux exited the undercover detective’s vehicle and entered the silver Chrysler Aspen. He returned to the undercover detective’s vehicle and handed the undercover detective a plastic bag containing 2.2 pounds of cocaine and a plastic bag containing a defaced .380 caliber Highpoint handgun.

In exchange, the undercover detective paid Mirambeaux and gave a predetermined take down signal to detectives that were monitoring the transaction as part of a surveillance team. Once Mirambeaux re-entered the Chrysler Aspen detectives their vehicle and placed both suspects under arrest without incident.

Mirambeaux was charged with:

  • Distribution of CDS (Cocaine), 1st degree
  • Conspiracy to Distribute CDS (Cocaine), 2nd Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense, 2nd Degree
  • Possession of CDS (Cocaine) with intent to Distribute, 2nd Degree
  • Two counts of Distribution of CDS (Cocaine) 3rd Degree
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm, 4th Degree

Acevedo was charged with:

  • Distribution of CDS (Cocaine), 1st Degree
  • Conspiracy to Distribute CDS (Cocaine), 2nd Degree
  • Possession of a Firearm while Committing a CDS Offense, 2nd Degree
  • Possession of CDS (Cocaine) with intent to Distribute, 2nd Degree
  • Distribution of CDS (Cocaine) 3rd Degree
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm, 4th Degree

They are both lodged in Somerset County Jail.
