'Greatest Season In School History': Hillsborough Girls Lacrosse Team Honored
The Hillsborough Committee honored the team not only for their successful season, but for their hard work, dedication, and commitment.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The 2022 Hillsborough Middle School Girls Lacrosse Team was honored on Tuesday for having "the greatest season in school history" with an undefeated season and winning the Championship against Montgomery.
Mayor Shawn Lipani read a proclamation honoring the team during the Tuesday night Township Committee meeting.
"The Mayor and the Hillsborough Township Committee, do hereby commend the Hillsborough Middle School Girls Lacrosse Team, coaches, and parents, not only for their successful season, but for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport and to those principles of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement which the team strives to achieve," read the proclamation.

During the 2022 season, 11 different players scored for the team and six players had more than 12 goals.
The Hillsborough Middle School Girls Lacrosse Team included the following young athletes: Julia Brouillette, Victoria Byra, Sienna Church, Morghan DiGanci, Jules DiNuzzo, Alexa Gaspar, Brianna Gibson, Ava Heinrichs, Jayla Hidalgo, Vanessa LaMotta, Isabella Lods, Nevya Loniewski, Jessica McKelvey, Jeeya Patel, Devin Redziniak, Evelyn Reese, Paige Romano, Sydney Russo, Sienna Russo, Summer Smith, Elizabeth Stroka, Riley Sutton, Sara Thompson, MaryKate Toth, Madelyn Weber, and Bailee Wolfe.

The team was led by Head Coach Chris Gibson.
"Thank you to all of the parents for showing up at all of our 13 games and being louder than those Montgomery parents," said one athlete at the meeting.
