Dance To 1980s Music And Help Hoboken's Homeless: Fundraiser To Have DJ, Beer, Wine, Food
Grab your '80s clothes, listen to a DJ spin the hits, and enjoy bites and drinks at a Hoboken homeless shelter fundraiser Friday.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken's homeless shelter is rife with stories of guests who were able to move to permanent housing.
Now they're offering a fun way to donate and help even more guests get off the street.
On Friday, the shelter is running a "Back to the '80s Dance Party" with beer, wine, light bites, and a live DJ. There's also a costume contest, so get your '80s on.

"Guests are encouraged to wear their most iconic 80s outfits to vie for exciting costume contest prizes," organizers noted.
The event also commemorates over four decades of the shelter’s service to "Hoboken's most vulnerable neighbors."

Attendees will travel back in time to the era of Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, enjoying a DJ’s curated playlist featuring the decade’s biggest hits.
Since its inception in 1982, the Hoboken Shelter has served 500 meals daily, provided safe overnight housing for 50 individuals, and offered 1,000 showers each week.
In 2024, the shelter helped transition 157 guests off the streets into stable housing, delivered over 176,600 meals, and benefited from more than 12,500 hours of volunteer service.
Tickets for the Back to the 80s Dance Party are available online at $60 in advance or $80 at the door. Sponsorship packages are also available with top-tier sponsors receiving 12 complimentary tickets.
