200 Free Drinks When New Restaurant Opens In Hoboken

A new restaurant will open in Hoboken in fall and give away 200 drinks to the first customers.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A new eatery is coming to to the main street in Hoboken this fall, and early customers will get to try their product free.

According to signage at 219 Washington St., Akihi Bubble Tea will give away 200 drinks free for the very first customers, with no purchase necessary.

The shop makes unique blends of bubble teas and smoothies, and has locations around New Jersey, including Newark, Metuchen, New Brunswick, and elsewhere.

But what exactly is bubble tea? It's a Taiwanese beverage made by blending milk, fruit juices, fruit, and tapioca pearls. Some think of it more as a treat than a drink.

This summer, they announced a special drink: A pistachio coconut tea and avocado smoothie. They've also announced ice cream at some locations.

New Salad Eatery Opening Tuesday

Meanwhile, Sweetgreen just announced that they will be opening in Hoboken this Tuesday, with freebies (socks, snacks, tote bags) for the first 150 customers, while supplies last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. That shop is located at 218 Washington St. (Patch will have more on them in the future).
